Chaplain Roger Wilson is a Master Certified Chaplain with the International Conference of Police Chaplains. He currently serves as the Senior Chaplain for the Cedar Park Police Department and Fire Department. He has a volunteer staff of five other chaplains who respond to the needs of the citizens of Cedar Park. Chaplains are called to deliver death notifications to family members who have lost loved ones in automobile accidents, suicide, or who are murder victims. Chaplain Wilson has had extensive experience dealing with traumatic situations and served as a Chaplain at the World Trade Center in New York City after 9-11. He has also served at the one year anniversary of the Morrow Building Bombing in Oklahoma City, OK, counseling those who were experiencing PTSD, and worked with first responders at the explosion at West, Texas. His volunteer work took him to New Orleans several times after the Hurricane, Katrina, to take supplies and encouragement to the first responders there. Wilson has a warm and engaging personality that allows him to connect with people instantly. He is able to bring laughter and encouragement into very difficult situations and help people walk through some of the greatest tragedies of their lives. Chaplain Wilson also has the privilege of serving families through funerals and celebrating with couples as he has performed marriage ceremonies for hundreds of policemen and fire fighters. He has learned how to communicate hope and concern to those who are hurting and has spoken at a variety of high schools and civic meetings. He has pastored for the past 54 years and is currently serving as the Interim Pastor at Hill Country Nazarene Church in Cedar Park, TX.
